What to see in a day and where to stay in Zhangjiajie.

Hi, I will be visiting a family member in April in Changsha, we plan to catch a late bus to ZJJ and then find some accommodation for the night.
We sadly only have one day there so we plan to get up early and make the most of the day before catching a late bus back.
Could you advise which parts you think would be best to visit and where you think the best location for accommodation might be?
