About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I'm actually studying in China and i'm Vietnamese. I intend to do a trek in Malaysia for 2 weeks.

I intend to leave my baggage at Shanghai (in my chinese friend's home) and just bring a backpack with me for the trek. I then need to return back to Shanghai to take my luggage and catch my flight for Vietnam (inferior to 24 hours). My visa is one entrance (which i did in order to go to china) and one exit(to go to Malaysia). What do i need to do? DO i have to apply for a new entry permit?

Thanks,

Hung, you don't need to apply for a new entry permit. When you return back to Shanghai, you can make use of the 24 hour free transit policy. Remember to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport so that you can leave for your freind's home to take you luggage.

Hi,

Thanks for answering my question. It's so nice of you! However, when i got back to Shanghai, can i quit the airport to go to my friend's home in order to take my luggage?
My flight ticket is not a transit one which means that i actually have 2 separate flight tickets. Does the 24 hour free policy still apply? My itinerary is this: my visa is one entrance and one exit
Vietnam-Shanghai(one entrance). After that: Shanghai-Malaysia(one exit). Back to Shanghai from Malaysia at 7.am then i got my flight at 2.pm for Vietnam(during the "transit" time i want to go back to my friend's house in Shanghai to take my luggage)!

Hey, don't worry. You are eligible for the 24 hour direct transfer policy even you are holding separate flight tickets. In addtion, you can leave the airport to collect your luggage.
