About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

What does Confirmed Seat actually mean?

Everything I read about the 144 hour exemption policy states that you must have a confirmed seat. However, most airlines only assign a seat at checkin, so what does it actually mean?
Many Thanks

It means you need to have a confirmed ticket leaving for the third country which can prove that you won't overstay.
