For shopping streets, I recommend you go to Hefang Street, Wulin Road, and Wushan Night Market.
Here is the recommend itinerary for you:
Day 1: hotel check in; West Lake area; Wushan Night Market
Day 2: West Lake Area; Wulin Road; Hefang Street.

Bus route:
From the east station to West Lake: you can take subway line 1 to Longxiangqiao, and then walk westwards to reach. You can also rent a bike nearby to tour around the lake.

Wushan Night Market is located 600 yards to the east of Longxiangqiao Station. So you can just walk to reach.

To go back to the hotel, you can take subway line 1 from Longxiangqiao and get off at the East Railway Station.

From West Lake to Wulin Road, you can take bus 318 from Guozhuang, 28 from the botanical garden.

To Hefang Street, you can take bus no. 13 from Wulinmen, and get off at Tiefo Temple Bridge. After arrival, walk south for about 250 yards to reach the street.

There you can take bus b branch no. 3 from the Drum Tower to the east railway station.
