About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Is this trip valid for the 72h hour transit VISA ?

My trip will be this one, everything in less than 72h : TOKYO (JAPAN) -> Dalian (CHINA) -> Paris (FRANCE).

I want to apply to the 72h free transit in Dalian before taking my second reservation back to France.

But my flight reservation from Dalian to Paris is not direct, I do Dalian - Guangzhou - Paris (I will be in transit for 2h, my luggage will go directly to Paris). Is it still ok to have the 72h free transit?

Julien, if your flight from Dalian to Paris transits in Guangzhou, I'm afraid you can't make use of the 72h free transit policy.

Thank you for your answer. I've heard about a 24h transit policy which is more open than the 72 hour free transit, do you know something about it ?

Yes, your are right. For example, if your total layover time in mainland China does not exceed 24 hours, you don't need the entry permit. What's more, the 24 hours start from the midnight after your arrival. In addition, the 24 hour direct transit policy is not only available at airports, but also available at ferry ports and stations.

After you get off the plane, you can directly apply for the policy when going through immigration.
