About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is a 72-hour transit visa possible or a 24-hr? Or will I need to apply one in advance?

Entering China on Trans-Siberian and flying out of Beijing within 72 hours?

If you took train for Beijing and then flew out, then you were not qualified for 72 hours free stay. Instead, you need to apply for a G type in advance.
