About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong - Beijing - Shanghai. Am I permitted to exit via PVG back to the US?

Hello, I'm American. Fly into Hong Kong stay 1 day, then fly onward HKG-PEK-SHA.

Hello, Travis, according to the rules of the 72 hour free transit, you cannot pass two cities in China (except in Guangdong Province), so only if your total stay in Beijing and Shanghai does not exceed 24 hours, can you enter and leave without the China entry permit.
