can you tell me if i apply for a tourist visam type? how long does it take?

Hi I am a teacher looking for a job in China. they told me to handle your visa yourself. How much longer it can be to start a teaching job for at least onr year contract job? Or there are any other ways?

Amber, I don't think you can apply for it on your own. In order to work legally in China, you should apply for a Z type. For the Z type, work permit is required. It's your employer's responsibility to help you acquire the work permit. You said that your employer doesn't provide any help. I assume that they may not be qualified for recruiting foreigners. Otherwise, they should agree to help you apply for the Z type. Please be careful.
