Why do Chinese people celebrate Christmas if there not Christians?

I was just wondering because Christians celebrate it because Jesus was born on Christmas Day.

S., Christmas is not only a religious day but aslo a festival in China. Many young Chinese people walk out home to celebrate this festival just for fun. Many shopping malls launch promotions during this festival. It's a good time to go shopping. Once I saw many young guys march on the streets of Xian during the Christmas Eve. Of course, they are not Chrisians.
