About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

HongKong - Beijing - Germany (via Doha) -- eligible for 72 hours visa?

My parents and me fly from Hong Kong to Beijing and stay in Beijing for 2 days (56 hours in total) and fly then from Beijing to Germany (via Doha).
Are we eligible to get the 72 hours visa for Beijing?
Are we allowed to visit places in Beijing that are a little bit off the city (e.g. Great Wall of China)?

Is there a fee for this 72 hours transit?
