philipine passport holder living in japan. do i need a visa to enter shanghai?

i am a philippine passport holder living in japan & i want to visit shanghai for a week.

Yes, you need it. If you are only visiting Shanghai for leisure purpose, you should go to the consulate or embassy and provide your valid passport, a photocopy of the passport, a filled application form, your recently taken color photo, the original and photocopy of your residence card in Japan, roundtrip tickets and hotel reservations. If it is your first time visit to China, you may also be required to submit an empoyment certificate or financial standing proof.
