US Citizen Living in Japan - China Visa

I'm a US citizen living in Okinawa, Japan and I wish to visit China in April of this year. what are the requirements and how can I apply?

Required documents are your passport, a copy of its information page, filled application form, a recent passport photo, round-trip air tickets and hotel booking (or invitation letter). Besides, you should provide your resident permit (original and copy versions).
