About:China Work Visa

What type of visa needed when living and working in China but being employed by an overseas company?

Hi,
I am currently living in China with a temporary residence permit obtained after I arrived in China with a Q1 (I'm married to a Chinese...). I am employed by an overseas company doing my work here in China. Is it OK to do this with my family reunion temporary residence permit, or do I need to obtain a Z-type? Information on the internet is not clear about that. It's clear that you need a Z type if you work for a Chinese company, but even though there must be loads of people like me in China, you cannot find clear information about which you need when living and working in China but for an overseas company...

Thanks for your help!

Steven, I personally think that you may do this with your Q1 type. But you may visit local entry and exit management for consultation.
