Can invitation Letter come in a form as email?

Hi there,

I am visiting China from USA for a business trip and I understand it requires an invitation letter from a business in China. I am just wondering if they need to send me a physical letter or it can be by fax or email.

Hi James! Under normal circumstances, the invitation can be a faxed or printed copy. However, the officer may require the original copy in case they view necessary.
