Emergency Visa Info

My mother is ill, and intensive care in a hospital in Harbin. I want to visit her as soon as possible. Am I eligible for an entry permit that is issued on arrival? If so, I believe it is valid for 5 days, if so, and if circumstances change, can this be extended?

Hello Richard! As for your case, I think you should ask the hospital to issue you a certificate that could prove your mother's severe illness. Then you can apply for the VOA at the immigration inspection counter. The term of the VOA is not more than 15 days. Generally speaking, it can't be extended. Wish your mom get better soon!
