About:China Consulate in Houston

Do I need to apply a new passport ?

I came to U.S. in 2011, I had a Chinese passport before( expiration date is 2020), now I have got my citizenship, I am trying to go back to china to visit my family, I have got my U.S. passport . should I go to the Chinese embassy to apply a new Chinese passport?

Sean, you needn't apply for another Chinese passprt. You know, you automatically lose your Chinese citizenship when you became an American. In your case, you need to apply for a L type. And you are required to submit your old Chinese passport too aside from other documents.
