We're the bodies of the dead put under the wall during construction?

I am currently reading a book called "The Art of War" and in it states that who ever died during construction be it officer or builder, was placed insicpde the wall. I would like to know if this is true can any one help me. By the way the book is nonfictional story dated to som where around the wall's construction.
