Question

Can I apply in Denmark for a 3 month single entry visa to China on my British Passport. I intend to travel in May 2015.This will be so much easier for me instead of arranging to do it in the UK and having to fly back to collect. I could then drive if necessary to Copenhagen if required.With thanksBarry

Yes, you can apply it in Denmark, but you should go to the CVASC in Copenhagen intead of the embassy. Prepare your valid passport, a photocpy of the passport's info page, a filled application form affixed with a recent taken photo, the original and photocopy of your resident permit in Denmark, as well as roundtrip tickets and hotel booking records for China.
