Visiting Huangshan in May

I am planning on visiting Huanshan of next year. It looks like it will be rainy and foggy regularly. Can anyone speak to how bad the rain or fog gets around mid May (13th-15th)?

Will the fog completely ruin all sights of Huanshan or will it still be a worthy visit?

Mainly light rain or showers, and the fog wouldn’t be that bad. Actually it doesn’t always be rainy or foggy there around mid May. Sometimes it would be sunny days if lucky. The fog wouldn’t ruin all, it is still worth going.

Hi Judy. Saw your post from a couple of years ago and wondered how you found Yellow Mountain. We are going the end of May this year. Would love to hear about any wisdom you can impart. Did the cable car take you to the level of the hotel or is there steps to climb from the cable car? We are going up the Yungu cable car and staying at Xihai Hotel. Thanks Jane

Hi, Jane! I’ve visited there, too, and I’d like to give you some advice. There are still steps from the cable car station to your hotel. It may be rainy at the end of May, so you need to prepare a raincoat. Enjoy your time!
