About:China Transit Visa

do i need to get a transit visa here before i leave or can i apply in the airport when i arrive?

hi,
i am a Filipino passport holder with a Swiss resident permit. we will have a 9 hours stop in beijing and would like to use this 9 hrs time to see some places near the airport.

Kat, you needn't apply for a transit type because you enjoy 24 hours free transit policy. If you plan to get out of the airport for a short trip, you just need to apply for a stay permit at the airport.

is it possible with my Philippine passport? wii i not have a problem with it? and if i can get it, will it take long to get it?

Yes, you can apply for the stay permit with your Philippine passport. It won't take long if the queue is not too long, may be only a few minutes.
