About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Can I get a return flight LHR to PVG and a return flight PVG to KL and stay 72 hrs each way in PVG?

Each return flight is with a different airline but I will arrive in Shanghai, stay less than 72 hours and fly to Kuala Lumpur on another carrier, then return to Shanghai about 8 days later, stay for less than 72 hours and return to London on the original carrier. An onward flight is booked both ways. Can I make use of the 72 hour transit visa in such a case? Thanks!

Yes, Paul, you can make use of the 72 hour free transit policy on both ways.

Thanks Jannie. Looking at flight times I would arrive at 9.40am on a Monday and leave at 10.15am on a Thursday which is actually 72 hours and 35 minutes. Is that a problem as I will already be at the airport and through customs before the 72 hours expires.
