About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Guangzhou stopover

I hold a British passport, my wife a Swedish passport, we will be flying Amsterdam-Guangzhou-Sydney with a 3hr stop over in Guangzhou. I don't know if we will disembark during this time, but if we do, is a visa a requirement for either of us?

It is not needed. If you want to leave the airport, you just need to apply for a stay permit to leave. If you do not leave, nothing but your passport and flight ticket is needed.
