Hi cheryl, if your layover time is not more than 72 hours and you get the air ticket to the next destination other than mainland China and the Philippines, it depends on the passport you are holding. So would you mind telling me which country issued you the passport?

If so, you are able to enjoy the 72-hour free transit in Beijing. Your total staying time is less than 72 hours.

One more question. Flying into Beijing on Philippines air and departing Cathay Pacific, does 72 hour free transit still apply? It's rather confusing so want to be sure. Thank you again.

It is OK to enjoy for your situation. If you can provide your onward ticket with confirmed seat, you are able to enjoy.
