About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

What type of visa do I need and where to I need to do this. Departing country or arrival.

Hi I am travelling from Australia and arrive late afternoon. We are going to go to a hotel and stay overnight before heading back to the airport in the morning to continue our flight to Japan. Thank you

Cheryl, you don't need to apply one, as you are qualified for the 24 hour free transit. What you need to do is to apply for a stay permit after you arrived at the airport in China, so that you can leave the airport and find a hotel.
