Travel during winter holiday

We are teachers in China, have 1 year and 5 year old daughters, and would like to travel this winter holiday and see as much as possible from China. We are based in Jinan, Shandong, and ready to spend up to to one month traveling. We would like to go North, West and South:)
Could you please suggest an itinerary for us and what should we use on different segments: plane or train?
Thanking you so much,
Sonia

To the North, you can travel to Tianjin – Beijing – Harbin for about 10 days.
To the West, you can reach to Zhengzhou and Xian for 5 days.
To the South, you can visit Shanghai – Hangzhou – Shenzhen – Guangzhou- Hong Kong for half a month.

You can travel to some farther places by plane, such as Jinan – Zhengzhou, Jinan – Nanjing, and Hangzhou – Shenzhen. While Tianjin – Beijing, Nanjing – Shanghai, and Shanghai – Hangzhou you can just go by train.

For such a long travel plan, you’re suggested to join a tour, which will arrange you a better route and more comfortable journey. Here I’d like to recommend TravelChinaGuide to you. It is an excellent travel agency which provided travel experience with high quality for me. If you are interested in it, you can contact tourstravelchinaguide.com

Wish you a happy journey!
