About:China Transit Visa

South African Passport - Permanent Korean residence F5

My wife (Korean) and I (South African with permanent Korean Residence - F5) are flying to South Africa for a visit. On our way back we will stop in Beijing. We land Jan 3, 2015 at 17:20 and depart again on Jan 4, 2015 at 08:25. I saw Koreans don't need a visa for less than 72 hours. We would like to see a bit of Beijing instead of waiting at the airport. Would it be possible for me to leave the airport for a while. If you think the time is too short please advise. We would love to at least get some rest and a shower even if it's at or near the airport. We saw a lounge at the airport, but couldn't manage to book it online.

We would really appreciate your help and we hope to visit China later in 2015 for a longer visit.

Derrick, so your total stay in Beijing is less than 24 hours. If you plan to exit the airport, you need to apply for a stay permit when you arrive. With this permit, you can exit the airpot and visit the town.
