About:Chinese Consulates in South Korea

South African person working in South Korea

I am a south african currently working in korea with a korean visa, travelling to beijing in december, my layover time is maximum 4 hours

would i need a special permit?

If you only make a transfer in Beijing and the transfering time is no more than 4 hours, nothing is required if you just stay in the airpor. If you want to leave the airport, you can apply for a stay permit to leave the airport.
