About:China Customs Declaration

i'm buying a new macbook from dutyfree and taking it to china in box for myself, is that ok?

I am planning to use it myself in China when i have time to open it but do i need to declare it and is it possible for me to keep the box? if not, do i need to pay tax and how much?

Sandy, you need to pay 10 to 20 percent tax according to the law. However, many people just bring the macbook into mainland China. They discard the box. They do this because they want the customs to believe that it's not a new one.
