About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Sydney - KL - Beijing - Vietnam on 2 airlines

Hi,
I live in Sydney.
I want to fly Sydney to Kuala Lumpur (stay 4 days).
Fly from KL to Beijing. I want to use the 72 hours free transit. I am flying these 2 legs with Malaysian Airlines. Then I want to buy a single ticket on Air China from Beijing to Vietnam. Is this ok? Or do I need to buy all my tickets with one air line?

It is OK. The ticket can be from different airlines, but it should have confirmed seats on your ticket.

You can have tickets with different airlines BUT you need to have them before landing in China.
