About:China Visa Exemption

I am holding an American Passport and intend to fly to Hong Kong and then Hainan.

As above.

I am flying to Hong Kong for 1 day and then to Hainan for golf for 3 days and back to Hong Kong for my flight back to Singapore. Do i need a Visa?

Yes, you need to have a single entry Tourist L in advance to visit Hainan.
