About:Xiling Snow Mountain

Is it a good time to go Xiling Snow Mountain on 23/12/2014?

Any direct bus going to the mountain from Xinnanmen Bus Terminal on 23/12/2014?

Can I do it as day trip meaning go in the morning and get back to Chengdu down town at evening? What time the last bus from Xiling back to Chengdu?

Where can I refer to the bus schedule? Is it easy to get the bus ticket at the counter or pre-book needed? How much per ticket?

Is ski facility available on the date that I plan to visit which is 23/12/2014?

Thank you for your advices.

In the Xinnanmen Bus Station, there are three direct buses to the scenic area, departing at 08:30, 08:50 and 09:30 every day. The bus fare is CNY34. You are suggested to book the tickets in advance.

Yes, you cna take a day trip there. The last bus back to Chendu is at about 17:30, and maybe 18:00 in summer time. If for a day trip, I suggest you hire a car or share a car pooling with other visitors to return.

Generally speaking, the ski facilities are available on that date. Don’t worry.

Hi Eco from Malaysia,

I recently booked a tour from Jun Air Travel Agency in Singapore, and the snow mountain was supposedly included as one of the destinations we were initially suppose to cover. However, the local tour guide insisted that there was no snow on the mountain and all the facilities are closed, and got us to changed our itinerary to visit temples and buddha instead, which was plain ridiculous considering we paid such a high price for this china tour as compared to others.

Just wondering if anyone here in the thread managed to visit the mountain ski resort on the 22nd or 23rd Dec 2014. Hope someone can help.

Your Sincerely,
Michelle from Singapore

Dear Michelle,

I did not go to Xiling but I went to Xinnanmen bus station 3 times in different day to other places there were buses and many private car service available to the snow mountain. I believe the ski park is open.

We went to Mt. Emei ski park from 24-27/12. It was snowing. I assume if we can get snow on Mt. Emei supposingly the XL Snow Mountain should have snow too.

Hi,

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I have actually heard from someone in my tour group on the day of our departure after they met their china relatives for lunch that the relatives actually went up to ski during that period which explains that the guide actually lied to us. Therefore I'm actually looking for more people who was physically there are the mountain to confirm this.

We were brought to mt emei as well only to see the two temples after a gruelling 8hr bus ride and then back to the hotel. The entire trip was extremely disappointing.

If your Mt. Emei tour reach Leidongping (almost near the top of Jinding summit) you should be able to see snow already. We stayed at Leidongping, the place was covered with ice and there was a day snowing too. From the Leidongping bus station walk to the Ski Park just about 300M.

Not very sure where that is cause we were only brought to the big buddha and the two temples and it was a very last minute proposal made by the tour guide by which we were not given any other alternatives and also no time to research and propose any alternatives. You mean there is a ski park near mt emei too? Looks like i need to check it out. Thank you for your help rendered thus far.

Hi Michelle

Me and my family were at the mountain 24 - 26 Dec 2014. It was great fun for me and family. We enjoyed skiing and playing with snow :)
