About:China Private Visit Visa

What is the most appropriate visa for our situation?

I recently started studying in China. My wife is still back home and will visit me in December/January (for about a month), then return home for two months and hopefully join me permanently in March. The plan is for her to find a teaching job during her visit during Des/Jan and then return in March on a working Z. My question is what type would be the most appropriate for her to visit me for the first month? Can the S1/S2 be changed to a Z when she is here in China? Will the S visa expire as soon as she gets a Z, or will she be able to go back on the S1 after her Z ends without returning home and applying for another new one again? Hope I make sense.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,

No matter what type it is, visitors are unable to change it from type to type in China in person. Personally speaking, you may need to look for an agency if you want to change within China.

For her first visit, she is suggested to apply for a Tourist L or try to apply for a S2.

After she gets all the documents for applying Z, you can return to apply for a Work Z. After the Z was got, her former Tourist L/S2 will expires automatically. Then she can use the Z type to visit China.
