About:China Visa Exemption

We are German and US citizen, do we need visa to visit China for 2 weeks?

From Hong Kong, Macau, Beijing, Shanghai? What is Hainan provence?

You need to have a single entry Tourist L for visiting China mainland. For HK, both USA citizens and German enjoy a 90-day free entry permit, so you can use your valid passport to travel around.
