Can I get the transit visa on my return journey from Shanghai with a stop in Kunming?

I am a UK passport holder and I have a flight from Osaka to Shanghai on the 16th November and I will have to stay 2 days before my next flight from Shanghai to Dubai on 18th November. However my flight from Shanghai will have a brief stop in Kunming on the way to Dubai (the flight number is the same the stop is for 1 hour). Do I qualify for the 72 hour free transit in Shanghai?
