About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Am I qualify for the transit visa, and how am I going about apply it?

I'm flying out of New York to Taipei , then on return flight, I'm flying from Taipei to Shanghai, stopover for two days , then return back to New York . I had call my airline, but they don't know anything about this free transit thing. Thanks

You are able to enjoy the 72-hour free transit on your returning trip to USA.

You just need to tell the airline that you want to enjoy this policy when boarding at the airport and upon arriving, you need to apply for a stay permit to leave the airport. For your situation, you may need to communicate with the airline to let them know this policy.
