About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

My TRP expires 29th November. I leave my current job 31st October

I will work as a concultant in my wife company (consultant & investment company). I have been in China since 2008 and has been married 4 years to chinese citizen. How do i apply for renewal TRP or can i apply for permanent recidence? My work permit is valid till 31st Dec 2015 (Alien Employment Permit)

You can choose to renew your resident permit, but you may impossible to get a permanent residence.

May I know what kind of resident permit you have, one for work, or for private things or for family reunion? The required documents are different for different types.

I got work residence permit + Alien Employment Permit valid till 31/12-2015.

For your situation, you are suggested to use your current alien employment permit and current resident permit to renew your resident permit at the local PSB.

For applying to renew, you need to take your valid passport, an application form with a recent taken photo, Valid Registration Form of Temporary Residence for Visitors, your contract with your current company, the company's registration certificate and other documents. Then you can get a new permit after around 15 workings later.

Even though you may leave the current job, you still have a resident permit to allow you to stay in China legally. Otherwise, you may face to stay in China illegal. After you find a new job, you can change your alien employment permit and your resident permit.
