Documents to prepare for a visa

I am a NZ permanent resident with Dutch passport tourist visiting Yangon in December. From there I want to travel overland by bus (via north Thailand and Laos) to China. What documents do I need to apply for a Chinese tourist L in Yangon? My parents live in Shanghai and invite me. From Shanghai I will fly home to New Zealand.

You can prepare your valid passport, application form with a recent taken photo, an invitation letter from your parents, your proof of legal status in Yangon for application.
