I apologize, but it is a bit hard to understand what your real question was. Since you will be obviously travel via China I would like to inform you that your itinerary has to have two different countries at each end, for example Islamabad - Shanghai - Japan and your total layover in Shanghai is allowed to be up to 24 hours. If your itinerary and the length of your layover are as I have explained, you will be eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you do not need any kind of visa. If you do not plan to exit the airport, you will just walk from one to the other gate and you do not have to perform any formality nor fill out any form. However, if you have a long layover then you will, immediately upon your landing in China, approach 24/240 hour visa free transit counter where you will apply for a temporary entry permit by presenting your flight itinerary and your hotel booking accommodation if you plan to have a hotel stay. In any case, it is important to understand the fact that the issuing of the temporary entry permit is not a passenger's right, but a bonus that is offered based on discretionary decision to those with long layovers, disabled passengers and those with small children. In any case, you should try and hopefully it will be resolved in your favor, although you can expect both outcomes. In the case of the negative outcome, you will just wait for your next flight in the transit zone of the airport. I wish you a success and a pleasant journey.
