About:West Lake (Xi Hu)

Cruising on West lake, Hangzhou

(1) Which is the best way to cruise the lake? From where cruises start? Which is the best boat company? How much does it cost? Is there a tour which includes cruising on West Lake and stop over at major attractions by the side of Lake? If you know, please give details. (2) Do people speak even broken English, at least near tourist places?

1. You can get on a boat at Broken Bridge (Duan Qiao) for sightseeing of the lake. I am sure it will worth it. I remember it costs CNY30-50 per hour. But I am not clear if the boat will stop at the major attractions.
2. Yes, people in the city, especially in the tourist place, speaks simple English. There won't be much trouble to rent a boat or take a cruise tour.
