About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Is Hong Kong counted as a different country/region? Or is HK now part of China.

I want to go from U.K. To China to Hong Kong

HK is regarded as a different region. So if you fly from UK directly to China and then to HK, you can enjoy the free transit.
