About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Amsterdam-Beijing-Hong Kong-Amsterdam

Hi, I am arriving in Beijing on 17th October at 8.55 a.m. (scheduled time) and leaving for Hong Kong on 20th October at 9.30 a.m. Do I need a visa for China as a Dutch citizen even if I am pretty sure that by the time that I have collected my luggage and arrive at the local authorities in the airport, it will be later than 9.30 a.m?

The 72 hours are counted from the schedule arrival time, so your transfering time is over 72 hours. As a result, you are not be able to enjoy the 72-hour free transit policy and you need to apply for a Transit G for transfering.
