About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Travel Amsterdam-Beijing-Hong Kong-Amsterdam

I would like to travel direct from Amsterdam direct to Beijing.Stay in Beijing for 5 nights and then on to Hong Kong by bullet train.Would a 144 transfer visa be allowed for this trip?Thankyou.

No. High speed rail is not allowed. Only trains from Beijing West railway station qualify. You need to fly to Hong Kong or get a visa.

The HSR clears Mainland Chinese immigration in HK (similar to the UK's arrangement in France and Belgium where you go through UK border in a foreign country) so will not qualify. Only the slow "through train" to Hung Hom station clears Mainland Chinese immigration in Beijing West.
