Travel to Northern Tianshan

I was told Northern Tian Shan is a ery beautiful place and is blessed with many varieties of delicious dried fruits. How do i get from Urumqi to this place and back. Is there a train/bus service. How long is the journey and how much does it cost. What are the cities in the Northern Tian Shan. Is Tufan one of the city. I love spicy muslim food, what is the speciality in Northern Tianshan cooking.

Assalamu eleykum !

There are many cities at Northern Xinjiang such as Altay , Karamay and Gholja(Yi ning), Altay area and Gholja(Yi ning ) are most beautuful parts in Xinjiang speacially Kanas lake and Narat Grassland . Turpan actually located East of Xinjiang ,its Chinese grape base .

You can take a public sleeper bus and train to Gholja and Beitun (60kms to Altay and 90kms to Buerjin)

If you like spicy food you can try Big dish of chichen (Da pan ji ) and some Fried noodles with Vege and meat .
