Los Angeles to Delhi, India with 15 hours stay at Beijing airport (PEK)

Hi,
I will be travelling to India from Los Angeles, USA via Air China. Flight has a layoff time at Beijing Airport (PEK) for 15 hours. Do I need to get a visa to get out of airport? I hold an Indian Passport. Also while returning from India to USA. I am planning to go out of airport for 9 hours. Do I need any type anytime since I'll be staying out of the airport for less than 24 hours?

Vikas, you need to apply for a stay permit when you land at the airport. With the stay permit, you can exit the airport without a problem.

On one of the websites India is not covered as one of the 51 countries which doesn't require any Transit G for 72 hours stay. Are you sure Indian citizens can get stay permit for a stay of less than 24 hours in Beijing?

Hi, Vikas. It is assured. Passengers of any country can enjoy the free transit if their transfering time is less than 24 hours. So please do not worry. The 24-hour free transit policy is different from the 72-hour one.
