Hi, I am traveling to Shanghai in late Dec and will be traveling to Hangzhou and Suzhou. I am thinking if to travel by bullet train to the 2 cities or by coach.However, I understand from your local agency that I need to get to the station at least 1 hr earlier and wait there.Please advise further.

There are many G-types available. From Shanghai to Hangzhou it takes about 40min and about 1 hour from Shanghai to Suzhou. For G- types, they usually depart from Shanghai Hongqiao Station and you can get there by subway. To avoid missing the train it will be better to arrive station at least 1 hour in advance. There is also coach available from Shanghai to  Hangzhou and Suzhou and the ticket price is CNY68 and CNY38.
