I'm a US passport holder and wish to fly to Shanghai for less then 72hrs. Is this possible flyng nonstop flights in each direction?

Kirk, 72 hours free transit is only available in Shanghai airports. However, Americans enjoy free access in Macau for 30 days and 90 days for HK. If you want to make use of 72 hours free transit, you should make Shanghai as your transit city.
