Hello I would like to know if I need any type if I only want to stay in china for 72h, I've read if we are transiting there's no need, what if it is a short visit? I'm holding a spanish passport.

If you make a short visit of the city you stop during your transfering, you can enjoy the 72-hour free transit, otherwise, you need to apply for a Tourist L type to visit Shanghai.
