My father have recently passed away and he has accounts in Hong Kong that will require an authenticated death certificate in order to transfer any funds. How should I go about the process?

Generally speaking, you can find a local notary public, lawyer or Commissioner of Oaths to get the death certificate notarized. Then you can go to the authentication office of the Canadian Foreign Affairs Department or the relevant province (territory) to get that certificate authenticted. After that, the certificate can be used in HK.
