About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 free transit visa for USA citizen

I will fly to Beijing night (11pm) 8 nov, stay in hotel, and embark on a cruise Sapphire Princess morning 10 Nov. Can I have the free 72 hour free transit and is it free? I am in Sydney where can I apply?

Hi, Lilian. According to the policy, you cannot enjoy the 72-hour free transit, since you reach China by flight and leave by cruise. The 72-hour policy is only applicable for those who reach and leave China by flight for two ways.
Since your staying is over 24 hours, you are suggested to apply for a transit type for transiting in China. You need to apply through the CVASC in Sydney.
