About:Chinese Embassy in Mauritius

30-day exemption

I am currently in China on a student's visa that will expire soon. I would like to extend my stay for 30 days to travel around China. If I exit Mainland China to Hong Kong or an SEA country and fly back to China, will I be granted the 30-day stay? I will be staying at a friend's house.

If you just want to extend your current student type, you do not need to go out of China and you can just go to the local Exit-Entry Adminstration Bureau for application.

Since you exit China, do you mean you want to apply for a new single entry Tourist type to visit China? If so, it is not assured that you can get it in the end. But you can have a try in HK through some special agencies or tour agencies. I heard some people have got it before. If you lives in a friend's house, you need to ask his or her to write you an invitation letter.
